Wireless communication in the mobile classroomThe HP NetEducation Center consists of one multi-tasking roll-fronted cabinet which is equipped with a complete notebook network. The basic configuration of the cabinet is 1 teacher notebook and 6 student notebooks (can be expanded to at most 20 student notebooks), one HP Laser printer, one optional HP projector and the Wireless-Lan-Network management. All units are already connected to each other by Wireless Lan. Power supply can be obtained for the whole system including all notebooks by only one cable. By pressing a single button you have the possibiliy to activate the HP NetEducation Center, including internet access, printer and all other functions.
The students' notebooks are placed on removable tablets with integrated power pack and can be activated either by accumulator without tablet or by external power supply with tablet. After class, the students put their notebooks back and connect them with the power supply of the roll-fronted cabinet for automatic charging. In the network the teacher's notebook can play the role of the server and the network administrator e.g. enabling internet access and the possibility of controlling the content of each student's screen individually. In addition the teacher's notebook can be used to control the projector, e.g. to play a DVD, to instruct students on how to use websites or to demonstrate teaching material.
